A family FAV! The sweet aroma of cinnamon & clove often greeting us at the door upon our arrival home from school. In fact, there were few days our home didn't smell delicious upon arrival with something newly baked awaiting us on the countertop. You may know my amazing mom, Jonna, of justgetoffyourbuttandbake.com - where she shares all of our tried and truly family favorite recipes!
Today my kids were greeted by the same smell I remember so vividly as a child, the smell of a fresh batch of Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies. A family favorite treat for years.
I've arrived at a season in my life where I have more time to spend in the kitchen, a place that makes me feel motherly and domestic in ways that greatly feed my soul. I think it runs in the family, my mom and grandmothers on both sides were & still are phenomenal bakers. I do need some work becoming phenomenal, but that just takes time spent in the kitchen... so here goes!

The batter is quite soft & light, making for the perfect cookie.
This recipe yields approximately 3-dozen cookies.
We love to add chocolate chips in ours, but my mom has always done half the batch with chocolate chips and half with raisins and nuts for my not so chocolate loving dad!
I hope you'll bake these up & enjoy!
