So I’ll start with Thanksgiving. This year we were supposed to have Thanksgiving dinner at my in-laws. It didn’t turn out that way because my mother-in-law was fighting a really bad head cold & cough that really put her down. She couldn’t eat or hardly stand because she would get so dizzy & light headed. The day before Thanksgiving she still wasn’t feeling well at all and so we put the Keele Thanksgiving dinner on hold until she felt better. So our plans changed last minute to have dinner at my parent’s home in Idaho Falls, which turned out great! The reason is because things kind of got messed up a little during planning and every one of my siblings & their families were spending this Thanksgiving at my parents as well… So I was pretty sad that we were going to be off. But it all worked out; even though I wish it didn’t take Jeri getting sick to put us back on track. We enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. My Mom in incredible with her cooking! Even ask Stacey…he gets a lot of attention at get-togethers with my family where there is food involved cuz he loves my Mom’s cooking and he really shows it! My family can’t believe how much he can eat. He filled his plate FULL 3 times… ya we all laughed when he would get up from the dinner table to fix another serving. Even though it’s not “traditional” the Warnke way of cooking a turkey is in the crock pot…I know different, but it’s really good that way. We don’t like dark meat so my mom just gets 2 turkey breasts. The crock pot makes them tender and juicy. There is nothing worse to me than a dry piece of turkey that you can hardly swallow without a gulp of water! Then of course we had a glazed ham and all the other dressings…stuffing, marshmallow yams, spinach salad (yum), pretzel salad, pomegranate salad, homemade rolls, mashed potatoes & gravy… then when your stomach stretches out enough…pie! My mom home makes all her pies… a different kind for everyone’s specific taste…I told you she is amazing! Stacey: Pecan Mom & Me: Apple Jason & Blake: Banana Cream Dad: Pumpkin Shan, Bran, & Dani: Coconut Cream… and we all love the cinnamon & sugar pie crust strips. We all enjoyed the day. The guys played some mean games of pool the girls chatted about anything and everything (that’s what we do best), we all played with the kids, Logan & Bridger fought over every toy! Boston & Adi made us all laugh at their sweet personalities & happy smiles. The kids both zonked out on the way home and stayed that way until morning. We had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving. Thanks Mom & Dad!
On Sunday, we had Thanksgiving Dinner number 2! Lucky us, not so lucky body! It was a delicious dinner at the Keele’s. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, rolls, salad, pretzel salad, & blueberry salad. Yum! Oh and candied Yams that we didn’t actually eat cuz we forgot to take them out of the oven where they were keeping warm…I’ll give ya credit for them anyways Jeri! Thanks you guys.
Saturday I pulled out the Christmas tree & decorations. I love this time of year, but I am finding it hard to get it all together. I feel like I have been really sluggish. I got the tree up and a few other random things, the garland on the stair banister is up—but not decorated at all not even lights yet, and I usually put garland up on my kitchen cabinets—it’s still early right!? Maybe I can pull it off before Christmas. At least the tree is up! Oh and on Friday I got most of my Christmas shopping done. I know what you are thinking…another one of those crazy people that are ready to shop at 4 am and bust through the crowds to get a “good deal”…but NOT me! I hate crowds. I’d rather pay full price. I stayed home and shopped online! (I love the internet.) So I have just a few more things to get; a few toys for the kiddos and stocking stuffers…oh and that reminds me I still have to get a stocking for Boston. I feel like I can’t hang the stockings on the mantle until I have hers too…
So I’ll leave you with this. It’s a working progress!
