Ready for Week #2? I am!....for it to be over that is!!! I didn't get pictures of my office de-clutter posted... but the cleaning must go on! I already feel a huge sense of relief just by what I was able to accomplish last week.
Spring Cleaning WEEK 2 PLANNER: Deep Cleaning
TUESDAY: Kitchen/Dining Room
WEDNESDAY: Bedrooms (day 1...if you have more rooms than I do you'll probably have to split them up...so I'll give you an extra day!)
THURSDAY: Bedrooms (day 2)
FRIDAY: Living Areas
How I will be spring cleaning my bathrooms... remember I'm not a professional...just a homemaker in training!
First start off with a quick cleanup. Collect all garbage (then empty waist basket), laundry, cosmetics,..whatever is "out of place". This will get rid of trash and laundry, enabling you to deeply clean the room.
Now it's time to get down and dirty!
-Dust down the ceiling and corners.
-Consider if the walls in your bathrooms need to be washed (most of the time they DO so don't overlook them!)
-Dust and clean all wall art. Be careful when cleaning framed art and photographs. Never spray cleaner or water onto the frame. The liquid can seep behind the glass and damage the pictures. Instead lightly wet a clean cloth to wipe the frame and glass.
-Dust the vents and fans. (don't forget ceiling vents...they can get pretty nasty. Thank goodness for my hubby who keeps these clean!)
-Take down light fixtures and gently wash and dry them before replacing.
-Take down draperies, curtains, blinds, etc, to wash or have cleaned according to the directions.
-Dust down any blinds and other window treatments.
-Dust down and wash windowsills and corners.
-Wash the inside and outsides (if it is warm enough outside in your neck of the woods to do this! I'll probably wait until later in the spring/summer and do the outside of my windows at once) of windows.
-Take down and rinse off screens, before replacing.
-Scrub the shower and tub. (this is a huge project for me in our master bathroom...I swear from tomorrow on I'll never let it get so bad!) Don't forget the light fixtures in your shower.
-Wash your shower curtain and replace the shower curtain liner.
-Clean shower doors.
-Scrub down the toilet. Don't forget the handle, crevices on the outside, and underneath.
-Wash the inside and outside of medicine cabinets, linen cabinets, etc. (you may already have done this last week.)
-Wash down the sink. Use a cotton swab or a toothbrush to scrub in tight spots on and around your sink.
-Don't forget to thoroughly clean your mirrors.
-Shake out bathroom rugs. Wash them and hang to dry.
-Sweep/vacuum and mop the floor. My Mom taught me that one of the best ways to get a floor REALLY clean is to use a rag or towel while on your hands and knees. If this is not an option try going barefoot and scooting a large towel around the floor with your feet. It provides more contact and pressure with the floor.
-Line your waist basket-- I just use saved grocery sacks. Lining the basket will save time when it needs to be emptied, and help keep it cleaner longer.
-Make sure to leave the window open to ventilate the cleansers you will be using (especially if you aren't using natural products such as Melaleuca ...ask me about them if you are interested.)
-Crank up some music & SING YOUR HEART OUT while cleaning...it will help get you in the groove & pass the time a little quicker!
Oh and I almost forgot...
YOUR HUBBY's SPRING CLEANING LIST: (your darn right they have to help out!)
-STORAGE ROOM (attic, unfinished basement, crawl space)
-OUTDOORS (garbage clean-up, sweeping, etc.)
We are half way done ladies! I can't wait to hear of your progress!
